Premium Cataract Lenses

Cataract surgery not only removes your cloudy natural lens—it also gives you the opportunity to improve the way you see after surgery.

A Personalized Approach to Cataract Surgery

Today’s advanced intraocular lenses (IOLs) can correct more than just cataracts, helping many patients reduce their dependence on glasses for everyday activities.

At Reisman Eye Institute, we’ll help you understand your options and recommend the lens that best fits your eyes, lifestyle, and visual goals.

What Is a Premium Lens?

A standard cataract lens restores clear vision after cataract removal but typically requires glasses for some activities.

Premium intraocular lenses are designed to correct additional vision problems, such as astigmatism or presbyopia, allowing many patients greater freedom from glasses after surgery.

The right lens depends on your eye health, daily activities, and expectations—not every lens is right for every patient.

Premium Lens Technologies

Advances in lens technology continue to expand what’s possible after cataract surgery. Depending on your individual needs, your surgeon may recommend lenses designed to:

  • Reduce dependence on distance glasses
  • Improve intermediate vision for computer use
  • Enhance near vision for reading
  • Correct astigmatism
  • Provide a continuous range of vision from distance to near
  • Allow your vision to be fine-tuned after surgery

Some of today’s most widely used premium lens technologies include:

  • Light Adjustable Lens™ (LAL) – The first lens that can be customized after cataract surgery using light treatments, allowing your prescription to be refined once your eye has healed.
  • Clareon® PanOptix® Trifocal – A trifocal lens designed to provide clear vision at distance, intermediate, and near.
  • TECNIS Odyssey™ – A newer full-range lens designed to deliver continuous vision with reduced dependence on glasses.
  • TECNIS Symfony™ – An extended depth of focus lens that emphasizes excellent distance and intermediate vision while providing functional near vision.
  • TECNIS Eyhance™ – An enhanced monofocal lens that offers improved intermediate vision compared to a traditional monofocal lens.
  • AcrySof® IQ Vivity® – A non-diffractive extended vision lens designed to provide a broader range of vision with a low incidence of glare and halos.
  • Toric lenses – Available in several premium platforms to correct astigmatism during cataract surgery.

Because lens technology continues to evolve, we’ll discuss the latest options available and determine which are most appropriate for your eyes.

Choosing the Right Lens

No single lens is “best” for everyone. During your consultation, we’ll perform detailed measurements of your eyes and discuss:

  • Your hobbies and daily activities
  • Whether you enjoy reading without glasses
  • How much time you spend on computers or digital devices
  • Night driving habits
  • Your desire to reduce dependence on glasses

Together, we’ll develop a surgical plan that aligns with your vision goals and lifestyle.

Experience Matters

Choosing the right lens is just as important as the surgery itself. With decades of experience in cataract and refractive surgery, Dr. Reisman carefully evaluates each patient’s eyes to recommend the technology that offers the greatest potential benefit.

Our goal is simple: to help you achieve the clearest, most comfortable vision possible.

Explore Your Options

Modern cataract surgery offers more choices than ever before. We’ll take the time to explain each option, answer your questions, and help you make an informed decision with confidence.
